The famous Swedish automaker for the first time in its history appointed a Russian plant "parent" to start CKD-Assembly of a new generation of technology. The experts collaborated with colleagues from Sweden at all stages of the production pipeline, trucks and working out the production process. Now the experience of the Russian enterprises will be used worldwide in the factories of Scania in similar projects, CKD-Assembly technique of a new generation.

Assembly technology is a CKD (complete knock-down), also called CKD Assembly, or manufacture of a full cycle, is a technologically-logistic process which is almost ready truck taken apart in overseas factory, and then units, units and parts are distributed in boxes-kits and containers imported to Russia. While at the factory in St.-Petersburg the truck not just assembled from separate import nodes, but also produce a number of rather complicated technological operations, such as Assembly of frames, install axles and shafts, engine mounting, cabin and other components and assemblies. Naturally, this approach to a certain law, the level of localization will allow to reduce import duties, as well as a number of other expenses and thereby allows you to optimize the value of production of cars while maintaining a level of quality corresponding to the main plant of the carmaker.

In the framework of the project at the plant in Saint-Petersburg equipment has been modernized, introduced new ways of programming techniques and quality control, improvement of a number of technological operations on installation of dump superstructures on the chassis, re-trained plant personnel. The company plans to make the end of 2018 it is planned to produce about 400 trucks Scania new generation. General Director of OOO "Scania-Rus", Mr. Wojciech Rowinski said at the ceremony: "I am pleased to note that the head office of Scania chose Russia as the first country to start the industrial production of trucks of a new generation of CKD-technology. Conclusion the new generation of trucks on the Russian market allows us to offer customers efficient and comprehensive solutions to improve the profitability of their business and to strengthen our leading position in the segment of heavy trucks". The first heavy trucks Scania new generation were shipped to Russian customers in August 2017, and the full range of equipment of a new generation with different add-ins were introduced in Russia on test-drive at the end of may 2018.

Plant Manager in Saint-Petersburg Mr. Eno Moberg in turn said: "the Start of production of the new generation of Scania machinery in Russia is a significant event for our plant and for the Russian commercial vehicle industry. It is a modern, safe trucks that meet the highest standards of our company and equipped with system of emergency call services "ERA-GLONASS".

Scania trucks are fitted with the new 13-liter and 16-liter engines with increased fuel efficiency, redesigned chassis and new cabins of three sizes, outputting the driving comfort and the comfort of the driver's work to a new level.
Improved aerodynamics, a number of new technical solutions to improve security and control, and modern heating and climate control made it possible to adapt the car to specific traffic and climatic conditions of different regions of Russia. The lineup includes modifications of trucks both for diesel and gas engine fuel.

The new generation of technology Scania also introduced an advanced fleet management system FMS, optimizing the operation and maintenance of machines and reduces operating costs..
