Although in Europe the standards of toxicity of exhaust of exhaust gases, known as the environmental standard Euro 6 (Euro 6) was introduced from September 2015, the cars of such standard motors is still rare (e.g., you can remember the new generation of Scania trucks).

Therefore, the initiative of the brand Volkswagen Commercial vehicles expanding the supply of vehicles with diesel engines corresponding to Euro-6 standard. The production of such cars for the Russian market unfolding since mid-August 2018. These brand new diesel engines with BlueMotion technology. Such motors, developed on the basis of the modular platform EA288 MDB, lighter and more compact than its predecessors. They are specially adapted to work on light commercial vehicles and well suited to a modern high demands of customers in respect of mileage, driving mode, high loads, and maintaining them over a long period of operation. In addition to cleaner exhaust systems, Volkswagen LCV brand with these new engines of level of Euro-6 create for Russian customers many performance advantages. So, due to the increased efficiency of diesel engines, fuel consumption will decrease by almost a quarter (from control 5.8 liters per 100 km). The total cost of car ownership (TCO) is also expected to decline due to the reduction of insurance costs more environmentally friendly engines and a higher residual value of the car.

New offer Volkswagen Commercial vehicles has also significantly expanded access to Russian clients a range of combinations of engines, drives and transmissions, for example, now, in addition to the base engine with 150 HP will be offered and the most powerful 204-horsepower engine, each of which can be combined with 7-speed automatic transmission and the signature all-wheel drive system 4MOTION. The new engine includes a number of significant technical innovation. So in the space of the engine compartment, it is set with a forward tilt that provides increased free space in the driver's cab and, accordingly, increase of the cargo compartment. Unit turbocharger with single or dual turbine designed to achieve high torque from small rpm of the crankshaft of the engine. To improve the compactness and optimization of elements of the engine compartment refused to air aftercooler (intercooler) – heated through compression in the supercharger air to ensure optimum filling of cylinders with liquid pre-cooled in the intermediate cooler. The decrease in the content of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gases provided by EXHAUST gas recirculation, and a larger oil sump volume 9.5 l allows to increase service runs and reduce total costs of owning a car. In addition, together with the new Euro 6 engines for LCV of the brand Volkswagen will be such innovative systems as: Engine Start-Stop system and energy recovery during braking. This, of course, cars with Euro 6 engines must be operated on high-quality diesel fuel Euro-5 (standard DT-E-K5 with a sulfur content of less than 10 mg/kg, (fixed by GOST R 52368-2005 type III) and above. Now this type of fuel standard K5 is already widely available on all branded filling stations in Russia.
