Series long haul trucks IVECO Stralis NP won the competition for the right to become truck of the year with low-emission Commercial Fleet Awards 2017 (the contest was held in English Basildon). This title confirms the company's commitment to IVECO by the use of technologies that promote sustainable development, and its strong market position as a supplier of heavy trucks to natural gas.

The expert jury of Commercial Fleet Awards ceremony, commented on his choice: "IVECO was ready to go his own way and achieved success in creating a vehicle that significantly reduces emissions such as CO2 and NOx. The use of compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas LNG – was a breakthrough in cargo transportation over long distances, which marks an important step forward in the use of alternative fuel in this segment of transport."

Pierre Louth, brand President of IVECO said: "it's Nice to see that technological and market leadership IVECO in the development based on natural gas, gets the recognition it deserves. This victory is another confirmation that natural gas is the sustainable future of transport, as well as proven technology that is available to customers today. Truck IVECO Stralis NP – very powerful heavy truck that was recently installed our new engine Cursor 13 with a power of 460 HP, and now he still is ideal for the most difficult long-haul".

Premiere of the new truck IVECO Stralis 460 NP world community was held in October 2017. The new engine develops a torque of up to 2000 N·m and packaged with a 12-speed automatic gearbox Hi-Tronix, which provides additional comfort and throttle response. This flagship model complements the already known modification Stralis 400 NP. Both models are available in three versions: for CNG (CNG), the combination of LNG (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG), or with two tanks for LNG, which provides the mileage to 1600 km.

Both models Stralis NP designed using energy-saving technologies IVECO, providing fuel savings of up to 15% and reducing total cost of ownership by 9% compared to similar vehicles running on diesel fuel.

Thanks to the unique technology of IVECO, which are equipped with engines running on natural gas, NOx emissions by 60% below than the emission standards for Euro VI long-haul transport. Stralis NP is also much quieter than a diesel truck where the noise is reduced by almost 50%, which is a big advantage when the delivery of goods to the city. IVECO was the first manufacturer of commercial vehicles, which saw great potential in natural gas in 1991 – this has allowed the company to develop a full range of trucks, vans and buses on natural gas. Since that time, has sold more than 23,000 cars with gas engines, including the series Daily Eurocargo NP and NP, which are particularly popular logistics companies.
