RAMR predicts growth of LCV sales in 2018 4.2%

According RAMR sales of new light commercial vehicles (LCV) in may increased by 14.8% compared to may of 2017, and their implementation reached 10.1 thousand In January-may 2018 the sales of new LCVs amounted to 8.3% to 48.2 thousand
In the first five months on the market of light commercial vehicles showed the most pronounced growth LCV of foreign brands – by 34.6%, but sales of LCV of Russian brands showed a slight decrease by 1.3% due to failure of the sales of only one of the three manufacturers. The share of the domestic LCV brands in the market fell to 67% compared to 73% for the same period of 2017.
Light commercial vehicles of GAZ in the first five months of 2018 took 41% of the market. Sales of LCV GAS increased by 11.9% to 19.7 million
Sales of light commercial vehicles during the period under review, in contrast, fell by 23.4% to 8.5 thousand For UAZ LCV market accounted for 18% vs. 25% for the same period of 2017.
Among foreign cars LCV the most popular brand is Ford. So, sales of light commercial vehicles of this brand grew by 73.9 per cent to 2.3 million, and market share increased accordingly, from 5% to 8%.
Under the baseline scenario of the forecast RAMR, in 2018 the market for new light commercial vehicles will reach 123 million, which is 4.2% more than in 2017. The share of LCV of Russian brands, in principle, successfully dominating the market, by the end of the forecast period in 2023 would be slightly reduced compared to 2018 and amount to 67.2 per cent.
