New engines developed jointly with Liebherr
KAMAZ announced the launch of conveyor production line six-cylinder inline engines P6. Production is organized in partnership with Liebherr. Specialists of the German company helped with the development of new engines: a contact was signed in 2014.
The new engines will be installed on Kamskie trucks promising generation K5. Start of production is scheduled for 2019, so inline "six" will show itself in the work of at best a year and a half.
Depending on modifications the new engine will develop a power of 400 to 700 HP. The engine complies with environmental class "Euro-5", it is planned to bring it up to requirements "Euro-6". The service interval is 150 000 miles the engine of 1 500 000.
It is expected that the new engine "KAMAZ-910.10" based on Liebherr D946 volume of 11.95 liters, which is two years. Inside the KAMAZ project to create a new series of DVS is the name of "Tibet". In the period from 2014, the Russian company built a new plant and installed the equipment for manufacture of blocks and cylinder heads. In December of this year processed the first part of the new engine on the Assembly line built the first engines KAMAZ 910.10.
Soon the new production facility will operate in debug mode. Until the end of 2017, the plant is going to collect only 7-10 motors. The launch of industrial production is scheduled for March 2018. The estimated capacity of the new line — 12 000 power units per year. In the framework of the project at the engine plant KAMAZ has created 150 new jobs. But at least the first time some of the components, in particular fuel equipment, will supply Liebherr.
