In Naberezhnye Chelny the first assembled pre-production KAMAZ fifth generation

At the automobile plant of OJSC KAMAZ assembled the first pre-series truck generation K5 – KAMAZ-54901.

Before the first generation cars K5 gathered in the Scientific and technical center "KAMAZ". In early February, workers began debugging the Assembly line of novelties before the start of serial production. According to the chief of the Bureau on the prospective car of Dmitry Zhilyaeva, the first factory-the instance chassis KAMAZ-54901 is now undergoing inspection and acceptance and preparing for further analysis, research and testing already on the territory of the Scientific-technical center.
Public joint-stock company "KAMAZ" organizes the process of launching a new generation of trucks in serial production in phases. So, in November of 2018 on "KAMAZ" has begun Assembly of the first cabs of trucks model number K5.

Cabin type K5 meets all modern requirements of ergonomics. For example, the distance in the cabin from floor to ceiling is 1980 mm and the inner width of 2270 mm. the Floor in the new cabin is made smooth, without engine tunnel.

All the car controls and the instrument panel is ergonomically placed within reach of the driver's hands. In the center of the panel to the right of the driver placed on-Board information system with 10-inch touch screen. The gear lever on the floor is missing, because the car is equipped with automatic transmission, modes of movement which is carried out from the right turn signal / multifunction joystick. Also there is no ignition key – engine start button.
When developing the cockpit, the engineers relied on the convenience and comfort of the driver. Therefore, the driver's seat is mounted on pneumococci and offers a wide range of adjustments.
The cabin has many storage spaces: lockable three drawer and two open shelves near the ceiling, there are also storage compartments on both sides of the "sleeping bag" under it. As the height of the cab is solid – in it are four stages, and the upper three are covered with a door that protects them from dirt and water. Fog lamps with cornering lights (or without) embedded in the bumper.

Rear mounted economical and quiet hypoid axles with a gear ratio of from 2.5 to 3.07, in addition, the increased capacity of fuel tanks: one tank or 700 litres, or two tanks of 1200 liters.

Truck KAMAZ-54901 will be equipped with new automated transmission and a brand new motor – row "six" power of 400-550 HP and with service intervals of 150,000 km.
