Import of tractors has jumped, despite the import substitution

Imports of tractors increased by 39%, and production fell by 14%

 According to the forecast of Russian Automotive Market Research (RAMR), the production of agricultural machinery in 2018 will be 12.3 thousand, which is 14.3% less than in the previous 2017. Accordingly, the production of tractors for agriculture and forestry will exceed the production of combine harvesters and will amount to 6.9 thousand

Although the trend towards import substitution and localization of production is observed, imports of agricultural machinery in 2017 still surged by 38.9% by 2016. In the structure of import is dominated by machinery tractor – 95,4%, or 16.7 thousand

Also RAMR prepared a detailed analysis of the production and import of agricultural machinery prepared. The study also considered the following sectors: motor vehicle, road-building, municipal and railway equipment.
