The new generation GAZelle NN will receive 30 assistants in the ADAS package

"GAZ group" presented on 2 September at the exhibition COMTRANS/2019 light commercial vehicle of new generation "GAZelle NN". Distinctive features of the new car was the wide application of driver assistance systems (ADAS – ed.) and high level of comfort.

New electronic architecture, a powerful intelligence system, more than 50 structural and technological changes provide the versatility of the new platform, which will be the basis for the development of the model range of GAZ vehicles in the coming decade.

"GAZelle NN" with more than 30 driver assistance systems and features a high comfort, reduced cost of ownership and versatility. New model light commercial vehicles of the Gorky automobile plant came to more than a high level of security, thereby reducing fatigue, increasing efficiency of driver operation and economic efficiency for business owners. Updated exterior with more severe lines in the front of the car makes the new LCV easily recognizable in a transport stream while maintaining the brand continuity of style.

The President of "GAZ Group", Vadim Sorokin, said at the presentation "GAZelle NN": "This is not just a new model or new generation of technology. It is a platform for further development on the basis of which for a long time we will create new models and modifications of light commercial vehicles. From a mere tool in the hands of the driver, which was the cars of previous generations, the car turns into a partner, a full-fledged participant of the road, which sees traffic situation, analyzes it, and communicates with the person behind the wheel.

Significant effort in the creation of a new platform aimed at ensuring its universality, which allows you to use the car not only existing nodes and the components and elements of the ADAS, but also to introduce future or even predictable systems and mechanisms. For us it is symbolic that the new car presented in the year of the 25th anniversary of "gazelles" – the most popular commercial vehicle in Russia.

"GAZelle NN" is an intelligent platform equipped with cameras, radars and ultrasonic sensors that monitor the situation on the road and around the car. This information is then "brain" of the machine – the electronic control unit, which sends signals to the driver and communicates directly with the controls (steering and brake systems, lighting control, sound signals). 5 cameras, 8 ultrasonic sensors 3 radar to provide 360° visibility, control "blind" zones, reading information on road signs, traffic signals, weather conditions and lighting level. These data, processed electronic "brain", becomes the basis for the work of ADAS systems, among which the adaptive cruise control, intelligent adaptation of the speed depending on the road signs, assistant retention strip, the automatic emergency braking system light control, Parking aid, control system tire pressure. The high versatility of the platform "GAZelle NN" allows you to enter the ADAS system in stages, gradually increasing the complexity of the tasks which the vehicle will take.

Comfort

Keeping the large space and excellent visibility cabin module, "NEXT", "GAZelle NN" received a new, more comfortable driver's seat with 20 types of adjustments,

modern system of climate control, multimedia system with 9 inch screen, new multifunctional steering wheel with paddle switches and press access to important functions of ADAS. The new dashboard got 8 connectors USB charger output to 220V, niche for smart phones, plastic cards, water bottles and Cup holders.

To the instrument cluster with TFT display (4.3-inch) displays key information, including navigation data and ADAS systems. Additional comfort provides Keyless entry into the cabin and Keyless engine start. The introduction of electric power steering has improved the smoothness and accuracy of control and to ensure the connection of the steering system with the driver assistance systems. A number of technical improvements have significantly reduced the level of noise and vibration loads.

Economic efficiency
"GAZelle NN" retained the key advantage of commercial vehicles GAS – the lowest cost of ownership in its class. Predictive diagnostics, which will be possible thanks to intelligent electric system, reduction of accidents, more than 50 structural and technological changes aimed at increasing service life and reliability of key components and a reduction in fuel consumption – all this reduces the payback period and increases the economic efficiency of vehicle operation.

Universality
"GAZelle NN" is a unified platform on which to develop the model range of light commercial vehicles GAZ for a long time. The versatility of the new platform provides a high variability of combinations of power units, types of chassis and other key parts of the vehicle.

To a new platform can be installed a wide range of internal combustion engines (diesel, gas, petrol) and electric powertrains. Modern electronic architecture with Central control unit the electrical system makes it easy to implement new options and elements of the ADAS system, to install the original special add-ons.

On the basis of "GAZelle NN" will be created even wider than on the current platform "GAZelle NEXT", the range LCV total weight 3,5 t and 4,6 with different types of bodies, length, wheel base and specific adjustments.
