On today GAZ Group is a leading Russian manufacturer of commercial vehicles on gas fuel.
In the line and LDV LCV brand GAZ cylinder version takes a prominent place. So, at last, in early October, Gas forum in St. Petersburg presented a new modification of the light commercial vehicle "GAZelle NEXT CNG" with the body of tsmf and "short" base, equipped with modernized gas-petrol engine EvoTech 3.0. An increase of the working volume of the power unit to the 3.0 l compared to the previous 2.7-litre version of the engine EvoTech 2.7, allowed to raise the power up to 120 HP when using gasoline and 109 HP when driving on gas, and maximum torque, respectively, is 252 N•m 225 N•m.

LPG version retains the comfort, safety and functionality of the base petrol and diesel versions of the NEXT family, combining them with high economic efficiency and environmental friendliness. Compressed natural gas today is the most cost effective used in commercial transport fuels, the use of which allows to reduce operating costs by 40-50%, of course, depending on the mileage of the car (including zero – to the nearest CNG filling stations) and characteristics of a particular model, compared to petrol and diesel equivalents.

the most Important design feature of the upgraded engine EvoTech 3.0 was the use of cast-iron engine block instead of a block of aluminum used on the previous motor. It is possible to reduce the heat load and increase the stability of the power unit at high temperatures. Changes were made to other components, including crankshafts and camshafts, the cylinder head and pistons. New motor design provides the ability to install a dual-circuit air-conditioning system for minibuses or two compressors for refrigerated vans.

A series of "GAZelle NEXT CNG" is equipped with four gas cylinders from a total volume of 33.2 m3 for tsmf to 41.6 m3 (airborne modification). The total reserve of the car is 750 km, including 300 km on gas. Gas equipment produced by Italian companies OMVL and Emer is certified according to UNECE Regulation No. 110. Multi-level security system of the engine includes high-speed valve (limiting gas leakage in case of damage to gas tubes), "fire valve" (provides a release of gas when the temperature exceeds 100°C), safety valve (ensures the release of gas when the pressure 300 ATM).
