At the IAA’18 to determine the best Commercial truck, bus, LCV and innovative truck

At the IAA'18 in Hanover announced the winners of the traditional contests "truck of the year", "Bus of the year" and "van of the year", and also added a new category, "Innovative truck of the year". This nomination is awarded for the development of the truck weighing over 3.5 tons, equipped with various innovative systems, including electric, autopilot, ADAS, etc.

Awards, respectively, were awarded to: Ford truck F-Max of Turkish origin. This newbie was able to beat such venerable Swedish competitors like city Scania truck series
Urban and Volvo trucks on liquefied natural gas (LNG). Jury duly noted qualitative technological leap of the Turkish branch of Ford compared to the previous model Ford Cargo.

About the "innovation" nomination, where the winner was the pilot of an unmanned dump truck MAN TGM
aFAS. In this competition of unmanned MAN was able to defeat the promising electric trucks Renault Truck
2.0, and Mercedes-Benz eActros.
Current Hanover scored a great demonstration of electric buses, but nevertheless the winner of the contest among city buses was declared hybrid Mercedes Citaro Hybrid. This model in addition to the usual diesel engine equipped with an electric motor powered from a battery of supercapacitors, rechargeable also via regenerative braking.

In the category of "Van of the year" winners turned out to be four single platform
"twin". This utility vans and Combi Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner, Opel and Vauxhall Combo, which was able to circumvent the final points of new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. In these "heels" for the first time in the class lightLCV display an innovative system for determining the overload, and instead of the in-car mirror mounted camera monitor.
