Foton and Piaggio to develop joint lorry

Company Foton and Piaggio has created a joint venture for the development and production of LCV

The head of the Italian company Piaggio & CSpA Mr. Roberto Colaninno, Vice-President of Foton Motor Group, Mr. Zhao Weichun and President of Foton International Mr. Chang Rui signed the contract for the development and production of a line of light commercial vehicles with a payload up to 1.5 tons.

The result of the joint activities of the two companies will be the development and production of compact pickups, cargo vans and light commercial vehicles. The expansion of the range of promising models, will allow both companies to strengthen their positions in existing markets and also to expand the geography of exports to new markets.

 the Negotiations on the upcoming partnership began in September 2017, when Beijing signed a preliminary agreement of intent.
