The year 2018 was noted on the European market a very successful development of the segment PEV (electric vehicles (BEV) + rechargeable hybrids (PHEV)), which increased to 386,4 million (+48% BEV) and (+20% PHEV).

For category, LCEV, i.e. light commercial electric vehicles in the year 2018 was also positive: sales of commercial electric vehicles has increased by 40 percent to about 22,000 units, which led to a record share of 1.0% of the LCV market, and the winner of 2018 was the model of the Renault Kangoo Z. E., whose sales reached a record nearly 8,500 units (which exceeded the projected sales of 7.5 thousand.), which is two times more than last year, which was made possible thanks to the appearance of the version with rechargeable battery with a capacity of 33 kW•h. the Second in the ranking is the German StreetScooter (+18% to 4800 units) held on this position in 2017, and the third on the podium was the Nissan e-NV200 with 3300 units.

The prosperity of a small German company StreetScooter from the city of Aachen, which emerged in 2010, contributed to a powerful Federal Agency Deutsche Post AG, which in 2014 simply bought this manufacturer, specializing in manufacture of light commercial electric vehicles (as well as Express e-bikes and e-trikes) series Work (capacity 0.6–0.9 t depending on the type of add-ons).

The amount of production of the Work XL to 3,500 units per year. In the future the company StreetScooter will begin to work on third party customers, and yet virtually all manufactured products absorbs his employer Deutsche Post.

A two-fold increase in the capacity of a battery would certainly support the sale of elektroorgana Nissan e-NV20, but still not given the opportunity to go above 3rd place in the European market LCEV

Further growth of the fleet of electric vehicles in Europe, local "green" and sympathizers associated not with the Russian pipeline gas from Gazprom, and with the further development of renewable energy generation (windmills, solar panels)

          Prospects to 2019
There is no doubt that increasing interest of the inhabitants and governments of Europe (primarily Western) to electric vehicles will increase demand for LCEV that also improve its performance and primarily on the battery, the capacity of which grows after the automobile models BEV. Considering that, for example, Norway in 2025 intends to abandon the new cars with LDC, i.e. to ban the sale of diesel and petrol vehicles, as Sweden intends to do the same to 2030 (in this case it was only the 10th time the European country, announced such a ban on vehicles on non – renewable fuel) - the prospects LCEV wide, because they will not just increase its share in the LCV market, but to replace the entire fleet of countries such as well as partially and countries are more cautious, hence the increase of production (if  the immutability of the intentions of European governments) will go the explosive. So what about the refusal of Russian gas pipeline to talk to the Europeans, not yet.
