New speed record for diesel boats now is 277.5 km/h, which is recorded by representatives of Guinness World Records. The record was set a multiple world champion in races on motor boats and in combination the General Director of the boat company FB Design, Fabio Buzzi on the Italian lake Como. Case record of trimaran, of course, was created at the company FB Design, the diesel engine was supplied by FPT Industrial, which is now also mentioned in the "Guinness Book of records".

Updating the record on the trimaran, Fabio Buzzi has broken his own record for this class of vessels, established in 1992.

the SUCCESSFUL FRUITS of COOPERATION

the Development of a unique 16-liter diesel engine was carried out by companies in the FPT Industrial Design and FB together. It's interesting that this series of Cursor 16 from FPT Industrial for a long time quite successfully used in agriculture, which is applied in grain and forage harvesters, which in itself speaks about the reliability and endurance of the motor, because it is well known that combine harvesters are bringing to the power plant the highest demands. Now this motor will undoubtedly be in demand and on ships – its upgraded version of the ship can develop a capacity of over 1700 L.C.

The cooperation between the two companies for more than 35 years has been very fruitful. So, over the years in a joint account FB Design and FPT Industrial have 32 League titles, including 15 world titles in different classes, and 17 international cups: seven in Europe, four in South America and six in Italy – a total of more than 100 victories in the Italian and international waters, several of records. Now this list was supplemented with new world record, listed in the "Guinness Book of records".

In the race for speed boats made Buzzi hulls and engines from FPT Industrial has won a lot of victories back in the 1980-ies.

In 2012 the race new York- Bermuda's winner was the boat Col Moschin, equipped with two engines C90 650. These engines brought the success to the boat Kerakoll FPT in the race to Monte Carlo – Venice. The winner of the most prestigious in the world of water endurance race – the Marathon world Cup was in 2010 Red FPT boat with four engines N67 600. All of these achievements, including a new record recorded by representatives of Guinness World Records became the evidence of high power and great reliability of FPT Industrial engines.

The latest generation base diesel FPT Industrial engines with Common Rail injection system received the steel pistons and the exhaust manifold is made of extruded aluminum. In addition, the engine was tested a number of innovations, such as the turbocharger with variable geometry. In addition, the engine is a cooling system with a unidirectional circuit, i.e. there is a single direct circuit with the flow of sea water through the pen steering of the boat.

The contribution to success made and Center of research and development, FPT Industrial, based in Swiss Arbon. Here were testing and the search for optimal settings of the ship engine. So, to create an updated fuel injection system used developments, run-in rally-marathon "Dakar" and "Africa Eco race".

research center in Arbon (Canton Thurgau) on lake Constance is quite famous for many developed and introduced innovative technological developments. The first of them appeared 90 years ago in 1928 when he developed the first Swiss diesel truck famous brand of Adolph Saurer AG ("Zaurer") existed in 1903-1987. In 1934 here was issued a patent for diesel engines with direct fuel injection. In 1980, experts from Arbon took part in the joint development of the accumulator injection system high pressure Common Rail, and five years later here came the first compact high-speed diesel with direct fuel injection and turbocharging. In the late 1990s in Arbon identified the most promising options first in the history of variable geometry turbocharger for the diesel engine and the Common Rail system was first installed on the LCV, and in a few years, this effective solution has been applied in agriculture.

Still later, in 2011, Arbonne company FPT Industrial has developed a proprietary technology HI-eSCR® – high-performance catalytic Converter exhaust gases.

The main goal for today FPT Industrial believes the search for innovative solutions suitable in the future for mass production. To demonstrate a high level of technology and were prepared trimaran-record.

  HOW does the REGISTRATION RECORD

speed Records for land vehicles and for ships registered at a distance of one kilometer or one nautical mile (1859 m). The distance must be traversed at least twice, in forward and reverse direction with time intervals not exceeding 60 minutes. In the case of committing a few rides – can be taken two the best result, average result, which is determined by the final speed. The record is considered confirmed only in the case of improving a previously established result.

A new record was registered representatives of Guinness World Records – the famous British organization dealing with the evidence of records using a complex system of measurements to guarantee accuracy of the result to thousandths of a second. All measurements are made using certified electronic devices and the personal presence of the official representative of Guinness World Records is the guarantee of the accurate observance of all requirements when fixing the record.

HISTORY of WORLD SPEED RECORDS FOR DIESEL MOTOR BOATS

the First land speed record for diesel motor boats was established in 1939 Gert Lurssen, when a famous German manufacturer of ships was able to show your boat speed 68 km/h. In 1967, Americans don Aronow were the first to overcome the barrier of 100 km/h. Then, in 1977, Tullio abbate was able to accelerate to 140 km/h, but only two years later this record was beaten by Fabio Buzzi, speeding up to 191 km/h. the First man to break the speed boat the mark of 200 km/h, becoming the Milanese financier Carlo Bonomi what happened in 1982 in Venice. Bonomi reached then the speed of 213 km/h, and in 1985 surpassed his own record, speeding is already up to 218 km/h.

In 1992 year Fabio Buzzi once again regained the title of champion, bringing the record up to 252 km/h – a result that remained unsurpassed until today.
