COMTRANS-2017 promises to be fruitful

Monday starts the motor show of commercial transport COMTRANS-2017

Held every two years, the motor show of commercial vehicles COMTRANS (alternating with the Moscow International motor show) to present 2017, the year promises to be the most significant exhibition event of the year.

In the framework of the press day September 4 (entrance only for the representatives of the professional press and VIP-guests) will be held 18 press conferences from the biggest companies of automotive manufacturers: UAZ, Kamaz Daimler RUS / FUSO, Mercedes-Benz RUS, FORD, Hyundai Truck&Bus RUS, Volkswagen, Isuzu RUS, MAN Truck & Bus RUS, Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, GAZ Group, Scania RUS, DAF Trucks RUS, Minsk automobile plant (MAZ), Iveco Russia, FAW, Schmitz Cargobull, KOGEL Trailer RU. Because of this tight schedule of press conferences some of them wisely postponed to the next day September 5 – the day of the official opening of the exhibition, when there will be a press conference companies VELTON and KAMAZ.

Of JSC "KAMAZ" represented by its General Director Sergey Kogogin will hold a presentation of the KAMAZ vehicle with a brand new cabin K5. In addition, the company will show the KAMAZ trucks of new model range, electric buses and buses, unmanned equipment, LPG cars, trucks, and traditionally a wide range of machinery. GAZ group will show its first "automatic" bus and minibus "GAZel Next" on electric, even with a large package systems active driver assistance (ADAS).  PJSC AVTOVAZ, of course, will show your F90 LADA Largus van, very confidently occupying space in the segment light LCV and for three consecutive years, winning in the nomination "Mini-vans" in the prestigious national award "Car of year in Russia". Modification of the LADA Vesta sedan CNG, suitable for a taxi powered by compressed natural gas (methane) and petrol. The exhibition will also be presented to the Department of LADA Granta van, isothermal van LADA 4x4 and other modifications.

The main premiere of "Komtrans", at least in the LCV segment in the country, promises to be a lorry UAZ "Pro", which will present not only in rear-wheel drive variant, but more familiar to the Ulyanovsk production four-wheel drive and double cab. 

The "Profi" – increased by half a meter wheelbase (3500 mm 3000 mm for the "cargo"), not to mention the 1.5 ton capacity. While maintaining a single busbar of the rear axle (payload dropped a hundredweight, up to 1.4 t), which is especially valuable for all-wheel drive version, which has a chance to save the famous cross "commercial series" – "loaves" and "tadpoles". It seems that if the new lorry will go to the mountain, not far off, and the appearance of van and even passenger versions (a kind of ideological successor of the prototype to the early 2000s – UAZ-2760). Among other things, Uazu "Pro" will have to compete with the acknowledged leader of the LCV segment – "Gazelle". Decisive here will be the price factor, so flexibility marketers Oise will depend on many things, at least in the creativity they can not refuse – in addition to discounts on the new phone, it offered to sell even for... bitcoins. Among the novelties of foreign cars will be presented to the Scania trucks of the new generation (The Next Generation), including model S500 Scania Scania R500 with a new high-efficiency engines.

Volvo Trucks will show seven trucks, including the flagship version of truck tractors Volvo FH Viking, Volvo FH Ocean Race and a 500-horsepower Volvo FH 6x2. In the construction segment the Volvo FMX Tridem 8x4 tippers Wielton Konisch, Volvo FMX 6x6 tipper with rear bodywork Meiller and Volvo FM 6x4. Show-stopper of the stand of Volvo Trucks will be the holder of two world speed records in the 500 m and 1000 m – the Volvo Iron Knight (the Iron knight) with 2,4-tysyacelistnik engine and automatic transmission I-Shift Dual Clutch dual-clutch.

DAF at the exhibition for the first time will present a new truck DAF FT XF 480 Super Space Cab, which will arrive on the Russian market at the beginning of next year. Here will be exhibited popular in Russia flagship long-haul tractor DAF FT XF 105.460 Super Space Cab and a universal DAF FTT CF 85.460, and other novelties.

ISUZU will present their top models, including the tractor on the chassis of Isuzu GIGA, Isuzu FORWARD 18.0 LONG van-refrigerator and lift, four-wheel drive NMS85 Isuzu pickup Isuzu D-Max in off-road equipment Truck Arctic as well as the novelty – cylinder Isuzu chassis NPR82/CNG gas engine, which was not previously represented in Russia.

MAN presents a world premiere – the visitors of the exhibition will be the first in the world who see firsthand the new tourism coach MAN Lion s Coach. 

Also on the stand will be presented: the flagship of the heavy series of long-haul tractors MAN TGX c class engine Euro 5, exclusive series of new generation trucks – MAN TGX Performance Line Edition, MAN TGS for heavy work and much more.

Many will be manufacturers of trailers Schmitz Cargobull, KRONE, "Stupica", CHKPZ, Nursan, CIMC Trailer, Wielton, Koluman, LOHR, F. X. Meiller, Navtrak Meusburger and others.

Due to the tight schedule of presentations on the first day of the exhibition, the company Foton preferred, for example, to hold a presentation of its latest models – the Aumark srednetonnazhnye S series M4 and trunk of the truck tractor Auman EST A H5 (version BJ4189 4x2 for working in a roadtrain full weight of 45 tons) – on August 29 at the site of its official dealer "Photon Center Moscow". 

Tractor truck Auman EST A H5, shown even on international commercial motor show IAA in 2016 in Hanover, refers to the fifth generation of heavy-duty truck JV Foton Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd., in the creation of which took part experts of Daimler AG. The design of the truck absorbed a lot of components from world leading suppliers including Cummins, Continental, ZF, Knorr-Bremse, Baidu, WABCO and others. Series EST H5 has been developed over 4 years. The price of the novelty will be known only after  the exhibition "Komtrans-2017", and its sales will begin in Russia in 2018. 

New generation M4 series Aumark, dispersed around the world in the amount of 4.2 million units was also created in cooperation with leading component manufacturers: Cummins, ZF and Bosch. Company Foton claims that the novelty differs from its predecessors not less than 60%. For example, it is applied to the CAN bus, making it easier to diagnose for the service.  the First on the Russian market since October of this year, received the full weight of 6.0 and 8.0 tons, and the whole family Foton Aumark M4 includes models from 3.5 to 14 t GVW. In 2018 it is planned to expand sales of heavier modifications S3 full weight of 8.3 and 9.5 tons. And only at the beginning of 2019 flagship series S5 will be headed by a truck with GVW of 12 tons. According to the head of marketing Department at LLC "Foton Motor" Eugene Poselskiego, sales will go through the company's dealer network, however, the first new trucks still need to undergo quite a serious operation test at selected customers and less not less than 150 000 km on prices is not yet available.

Concern FAW, one of China's largest producers of trucks, on the background of optimistic sales growth in Russia in January-July of 2017 almost 50%, will present at COMTRANS 2017 updated two dump trucks FAW-FAW CA3310 and-CA3250 with engines "Euro-5" and improved cabin type J6 LCD instrument panels and a system of "ERA-GLONASS".

Soon FAW plans to deliver in the Russian Federation and to certify the number of new truck models and to develop dealer network across the country with the aim to reach the level of sales in Russia in volume of 1000 units. trucks per year.

At the end of the first working day of the exhibition will take place on the 17th ceremony of awarding winners of journalistic Competition "Best commercial car of year in RUSSIA", a member of the jury of which I am for over ten years. This year the competition added a category "Trailer of the year" and "person of the year".
