Private joint-stock company "AvtoKrAZ" (Kremenchug automobile plant) was founded in 1946 in the town of Kremenchuk (Ukrainian SSR), initially as an engineering company. Soon, he was entrusted with the production of combine harvesters, and in 1959 – the production of heavy trucks, previously produced by the Yaroslavl automobile plant. In its heyday, in the 80-ies of the last century, the enterprise annually izgotovleno to 30 thousand trucks (the record was in 1986 – 30 of 655 units). In 1993 the Assembly line of KrAZ came 750 th car, but then due to the economic downturn in the independent States formed after the collapse of the Soviet Union, production dropped significantly, so the 800-thousandth car in Kremenchuk was done only in 2006. In 1996, was established as a holding company "AvtoKrAZ". In 1999, a controlling stake was acquired by the Ukrainian-German JV "Mega-motors". The company then became PAO and CHAO and now today it comprises nine Ukrainian companies and enterprises. Today AvtoKrAZ produces 33 basic models, more than 350 modifications in more than 1500 models as the traditional bonnet and bonnetless layout with two, three and four axles. In 2016, the Smelter received the certificate for quality management system for auto industry, ISO / TS 16949:2009 "quality management System. In the foreign market KrAZ is fairly active, so its range is quite adapted to the norms of Euro-5. Deliveries are made in the CIS countries and the Middle East, Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. By the end of 2015, AvtoKrAZ produced 1741 car, and in 2016 was made 837 trucks (-51,9%). In 2016, more than 93% (according to the manufacturer 68%) of automotive products were exported, and the national market was only 57 units (-30,5%).
