The Ministry of transport is preparing to introduce Cycling zone

The Ministry of transport has prepared the next amendments to the SDA. The initiator became the first Vice-Premier Igor Shuvalov. On his initiative, cyclists will be new preferences.

In a future edition of the SDA proposes to introduce a new term and a road sign "cycle zone". In the catchment area cyclists will have precedence over any vehicles. The traffic on such sites will not be prohibited, but the maximum allowed speed is 20 km/h. Cyclists will be allowed to move across the width of the roadway.

Also a special honor in the "Cycling zones" will be used and the pedestrians they can cross the road anywhere, not just on designated crossings. At the same time, cyclists from crossing the road at unregulated pedestrian crossings.
