The number of car thefts fell three times

Normally in a crisis there is a sharp increase in the number of registered crimes: people are more likely to lose their jobs, taking into account which increases the criminal layer, a business of theft. However, contrary to the current situation in Moscow marked a significant decline in car theft.

during the visit, management of traffic police GU MVD in Moscow Sergei Sobyanin announced a very interesting statistic: in the last years in the capital began to steal three times less. During his visit, the mayor not only pleased with the optimistic numbers and congratulated the local team on the Day of the State inspection of road safety.

"Very important work that you are protecting the property of motorists. The thefts were less than three times in recent years. I'm not talking about the fact that the number of stolen cars that you identify and find — 119 % of the amount stolen. That is, you find more cars than is lost per year. This means that you find cars that were stolen in previous years" — said the mayor.

a Paradoxical situation: how can we find more cars than it was stolen? The key to the answer lies in the sharp decrease in the total number of crimes in 2010, was abducted 11 805 cars and 4 discovered 514 (i.e. 38 %), then in 2017 the attackers stole 3 955 the car, and militiamen opened 4 693 similar case (the same 119 %). That is taken into account and those cars that were stolen in previous years.

Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin expressed confidence that the number of car thefts in the Moscow region will continue to decline thanks to the surveillance systems.
