Penalties for violations at railroad crossings can fold increase

In the state Duma a draft law "about strengthening of administrative responsibility for violation of rules for crossing railway tracks vehicles". Appropriate disposal published on the government website.

The bill proposes to increase the penalty for violation of rules of journey through railway crossings from one to five thousand roubles. The government noted that currently the level of responsibility does not correspond to the degree of public danger, which arises for violation of traffic rules through the railway track.

The bill was considered and approved at the meeting of the Government of the Russian Federation on March 1, 2018.

According to the publication "Kommersant", this initiative is prepared by the Ministry of transport in 2015. Initially, the transport Ministry had proposed a fine of 30 000 rubles, but during the discussion, the amount was significantly reduced. The need to increase the fine were substantiated by the large number of accidents with a poor outcome, but also billions of dollars of losses of Railways from accidents.
