January 2020 for new vehicles are banned from driving without registration number

With the new year, new cars will no longer be able to ride the first 10 days without license plates

Happy Russian new car buyers from January 1, 2020, prohibit to drive on the roads without license plates. This requirement is promulgated at the all-Russian seminar-meeting of traffic police, held in Yekaterinburg.
Accordingly, registration of new cars now are only the dealers. The corresponding rate prescribed in the Federal law "On state registration of vehicles". For the production of sold vehicles, the dealer must obtain the status of "specialized organization" and conform to certain requirements.
When all conditions are met the dealer, he may submit the documents for registering a new car in the traffic police and make the rooms themselves (in this case a combination of letters and numbers designates still the traffic police). After that the car with a full set of documents, numbers and keys will be issued to the buyer.
However, for cars purchased in the secondary market, are still the norm, i.e. they can be put on record within 10 days.
