Don't drive on a real busy intersection
Drivers can now face the new road and signs: April 28, came into force changes in the rules of the road (SDA), which is administered yellow the layout of the intersection, more popularly known as "waffle" grid or "waffle iron". A new layout was adopted postanovleniem government in October 2017.
"Wafer" marking applied at intersections with gridlocked traffic, which often formed congestion. Often their reason is the low culture of driving: the drivers go on a real busy intersection, resulting in block movement in the perpendicular direction.
It is noteworthy that the innovation is not in any way affect the liability of motorists: for travel on a "wafer" there are no fines, and the markup itself does not change the rules of journey of intersections. It is assumed that the main objective of the changes to the SDA will be a psychological effect on drivers: they know when leaving for a crossroads with a traffic violation they will be fined (in these areas will be carried out automatic monitoring of violations using cameras). The system monitors three key violations: running a red light, leaving behind the stop line and the turn is not from the series.
At the same time for violation of the rules provided by the old liability described in clause 1 of article 12.13 of the administrative code: "leave the intersection or crossing of a carriageway in case of the formed jam which has forced the driver to stop, creating an obstacle for movement of vehicles in the transverse direction". The penalty — one thousand roubles.
Earlier, the "wafer" marking was sometimes used in an experiment. The first time it tried to strike in 2015. In Moscow, she was put on three crossroads: at the intersection of Velozavodskaya and Avtozavodskaya, Velozavodskaya and Lenin Sloboda and Bashilovskaya and 2nd Kvesisskaya. The experts noted that in these areas were recorded "significant", the growth speed of movement.
