The first of June will come into force a national standard (PNSC), which will determine the requirements for the secondary asphalt and norms of its application. In particular, the new document will allow the use of crumb from used asphalt not only as the basis (as is done now), but also to create the upper layers of the coating. An exception will be made only for roads with heavy traffic, which, in particular, are leading to Moscow Federal highway.

On normal roads, the share of secondary crumb into asphalt mixture can reach 20 %. In the Agency noted that existing technologies allow asphalt plants not more than 30% recycled materials in the mixture.

Deputy General Director scientific research Institute of transport construction complex Kirill Zhdanov in an interview with the newspaper "Izvestia" reported that similar technology is already widely used in the United States. In this case, for thanks to an accurate selection of the composition of mixtures will not only save the properties of this asphalt on a new level, but even to increase its service life.
