The President signed a new law governing road budgets

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law under which fines for traffic violations will be forwarded to the regional road funds. Commencement of the new law is January 1, 2019.

The document was developed by the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation. In March the bill was passed by the state Duma Committee on budget and taxes. The authors of the law believe that the funds from fines will significantly increase the amount of road construction in the regions. Speak out even the assumption that the budgets of reconstruction and construction of roads can increase twice. In addition, with additional funds you can raise the cost of their maintenance.

At the moment the fines also come to the regional budgets, however, the heads of subjects of Federation independently decides where to allocate these funds. So before the roads reach not all of the money.

The government believes that the growth of regional road funds will allow not only to improve the quality of the roads, but to move them more secure.
