"Plato" was odne of the most criticized projects of the government in the roads sector for the time of the new Russia. The system of taxation of heavy trucks was put into operation in November 2015. Owners of vehicles with GVW over 12 tons have to pay for every mile on public roads of Federal importance. Recently appeared rumors about the imminent rate increase, but now the Ministry of transport confirmed that in the near future, indexing will not happen.
At the moment the rate is set at the level of 1.9 rubles per kilometer. Initially it was supposed to charge at 3.5 p/km, however, due to extremely negative public reaction, the government has set a grace period. It was approved in November 2015.
It was planned to gradually increase the ratio: In particular, on March 1, 2016, the rate had increased to 3.06 rubles per kilometer. However, the grace period was extended to 2019. Only in March 2017 tariff has been increased by 25 %. It was then that he increased to the current level (1.9 p/km). The abolition of the reduction factor could happen as early as 31 December 2018.
This news about "Plato" are not over. In July it is planned to strengthen the monitoring of offenders.
