Parking fees will not be charged
In recent years, the authorities of the Russian capital seriously undertook a problem of urban Parking lots. One of the key points of the new programme was the introduction of fees for Parking on most streets within the Third transport ring. Since December of last year, the maximum rate on the most loaded sections is 200 rubles per hour, regardless of time of day. A key goal is to force motorists not to turn their machines into real estate and not leave them long in one place. Because of this, many citizens once again not come to the center, avoiding waste. However, now the Moscow mayor's office has announced the introduction of the new year holidays, during which all the city Parking will be free.
This was announced by the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin on his page in the social network "Vkontakte". "Parking on holidays is free. From 31 December to 8 January inclusive, you can put the car on any Parking lot which is in the area of the Parking space of the city", — stated in the message text.
In addition, some Central Moscow streets will shut down vehicular traffic in the period from 31 December to 2 January. Walking will become Tverskaya street, Okhotny Ryad and Teatralnaya proezd. According to the Moscow mayor's office, this is done for theatrical performances.
