The press service of the national technology initiative "Avtonet" strongly disown before RBC from information appearing in the media about its proposed option to combat congestion by imposing a fee for their travel, ostensibly for the "Stockholm method" with the introduction of radars and cameras at appropriate intersections that supposedly will greatly relieve the road network and reduce the number of accidents at intersections.
In "Automate" said: "At the moment, expert discussions on this issue is carried out." The representative of the Ministry of transport also told RBC that his Department the question of pay of the intersections is not discussed.
The idea, supposedly made by some representative of "Avtonet" consisted in the fact that in 2020, in the framework of the project "Smart city" to conduct an experiment on the introduction of pay of intersections in one of the Russian cities. The insider claimed that the fare of the intersection or stretch of road during certain hours will solve the problem of traffic jams in Russia.
