The German manufacturer plans to start production of electric vans

By 2022, Volkswagen plans to release the production version of the electro-van with I. D. Buzz. The main markets of novelties will be on electric of the United States, Europe and China.

The first-born in the family of Volkswagen electric cars in 2019 should be the hatchback, the predecessor of which was the conceptual I. D. Then the range of electric cars the German company will join the wagon with electric. In Volkswagen has officially confirmed two versions of the electro-van with passengers and cargo, and the production version of the electric van will be equipped with Autonomous control system.

The basis of an electric minibus – platform MEB from the German company, which the Germans developed for all its future electric vehicles. The electric car on the basis of the MEB can have front, rear or all-wheel drive.

The production version of the electric van from Volkswagen, we will see not soon and any details about it yet. But the German company representatives claim that the minivan can be equipped with a 268-horsepower electric motor and battery with a capacity of 83 kW∙h. Recall that the conceptual Volkswagen I. D. Buzz (pictured) is equipped with a battery capacity of 111 kWh and electric power 370 HP Sprint concept I. D. Buzz from standstill to 100 km/h takes 5 seconds range – 600 kilometers.

Volkswagen plans to produce 30 all-electric models by 2025. At the moment we know that until 2022 the company will introduce a line of electric vehicles, which will include five new models. Now commercially offers Volkswagen electric e-Golf with an electric motor with a power of 100 kW (136 HP), a power reserve of about 300 km and the price of 35 900 euros in Germany.
