Volkswagen Beetle will be a part of history

The manufacturer suggests to say goodbye to the car through the release of special version

Very soon the world will say goodbye with a stylish jetbeam Volkswagen Beetle, made in the style of the legendary ancestor. The German company will cease to produce this model in 2019. To celebrate the imminent retirement, the brand presented a farewell special model Final Edition.

Beetle Final Edition will be slightly different from regular cars this series. He has got chrome accents and two new exterior colors: blue Stonewashed Blue and beige Harvest Moon Beige. According to the designers, both colors are reference to the colors of the original "Beetle".

In the interior provided natural leather trim and lining on the pedals of stainless steel. Depending on the configuration the machine will be equipped with multimedia Composition Media system or Discover Media.

But to choose the power unit will not work: all instances of a Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition will receive two-liter turbo engine, issuing 176 horsepower and 250 N·m. It will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. In the US the cost of retro hatch will range from $23 940 to $30 890.

The current generation Volkswagen Beetle was produced from 2011. The car was built on the platform PQ35, which was the basis of many other compact Volkswagen models, including Golf 6.

Predecessor car, Volkswagen New Beetle, stood on the line much longer — from 1997 to 2011. But even that result pales in comparison with the original "Bug": it was produced from 1938 to 2003!

Will return someday "beetle" in a new guise? Representatives of Volkswagen declare that the company now has plans to develop the next generation Beetle. And care from German concern completely different: a lot of money is spent on costs associated with desligada, as well as the development of a family of electric vehicles.
