The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed a law increasing the penalty for failure to miss a pedestrian. According to approved by the head of state the amendments to article 12.18 of the Cao RF, since November 10 instead of 1500 rubles violators will have to pay 1500-2500 rubles.

Earlier, on October 11, a bill to raise the fines were approved. With the corresponding initiative in the beginning of the year was made in the government of the Russian Federation. Then the authors of the reform said,
the number of administrative cases for failure to provide benefits continues to grow,
indicating a lack of effectiveness of existing policies.


According to statistics, in 2015 was compiled by 166 thousand protocols, in 2014 their share was slightly less than 164 thousand. At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov and head of government Dmitry Medvedev was announced different figures: the number of accidents in 2017 fell
6.1% the number of fatalities decreased by almost 10% compared to the same period in 2016.

Also almost 20% less than were registered in traffic accidents
with participation of drivers in state of intoxication.
