In Geneva, Ferrari will present its newest flagship range – the 800-horsepower hypercar 812 Superfast with engine without turbines. It's a sensation!
On the wave of General enthusiasm for the turbo and downsizing, swept the global auto industry in recent years, the news about the premiere of the latest Ferrari hypercar 812 Superfast with a naturally aspirated V12 engine with 6.5 liters, developing 800 (!) HP and 718 nm, debuting in Geneva in early March, was like a breath of fresh air.
The novelty, as openly acknowledged by the Italians – thorough processing of the previous flagship of the brand, F12tdf (and debuted as a model F12berlinetta in 2012), and the focus in the creation of Superfast 812 was paid to the engine – in fact, this V12 F140 series designed from scratch: first, this new injection system was increased to 350 bar pressure, and secondly, the displacement increased to 6.5 liters, and most importantly – used innovationa intake system with manifolds of variable length, similar to that which was used on the engines to 2.4 l V8 Formula 1 to "turbary", which resulted in a record for naturally aspirated motors road Ferrari power density in 123,2 HP per liter of displacement.
The dynamic characteristics of the new hypercar from Ferrari acceleration to 100 km/h in 2.9 s and top speed exceeds 340 km/h (apparently, upon further dispersal may not sustain the tire). Among the innovations – the first ever Ferrari electric power steering, improved control system lateral slides, Side Slip Control of the fifth generation and the system steering the rear wheels Virtual Short Wheelbase of the second generation.
In the cabin – a new steering wheel with gearshift paddles gearbox (as before, this 7-speed racing "robot" F1 DCT, but modernized, with reduced switching time), redesigned dashboard and media system of the new generation.
By the way, when working on the design of the rear section 812 Superfast designers were inspired by the style of the famous 365 GTB4 Daytona. The novelty will be available to order immediately after the premiere in Geneva, then wait and price.
