UAZ has released a convertible version of the "Patriot"

Open version will go
in the distant Namibia

Today Patriot comes only in one body style (except for the pickup version)
but soon the UAZ can start the build of the car. At least one instance
has already been made.

Photos of unusual SUV was published by the website autonews.ru. According to the newspaper,
this specimen was collected to the authorities of Namibia, which will use an open version of the "Patriot" for special events. It is not excluded that in the future the redesigned SUV will arrive in Russian customers. Among the probable clients are referred to the armed forces.

As stated by the Director of UAZ for export of Andrei Dorofeev, such cars often are used in the ministries of defense of different countries to participate in the ceremonial visits.
With this in mind, the open version of the SUV there is a small but steady demand.

Today in Russia for such purposes are often used SUVs series UAZ-469 and their followers (including the "hunter"), devoid of a rigid roof. However, the "Patriot" was originally designed with all-metal body.

Andrei Dorofeev said that recently, the UAZ has received an order for the release of several car
on the basis of "Patriot" for "law enforcement agencies of neighbouring States". The representative of the Russian factory also noted that SUVs with an open top have a chance to succeed
and on the commercial market.
