Toyota has introduced a new "heated" series GR

Many car companies there are special "hot" versions of production cars. The Volkswagen's GTI and R, Ford ST and RS, the Peugeot GTi, and so on. From Toyota too long ago there is a similar division TRD (Toyota Racing Development). But in most cases it produces only accessories for tuning, and the brand TRD unwinds only in the United States. But now the Japanese company announced the creation of a new "sports" series GR.

GR means Gazoo Racing. Earlier this sports division of Toyota is preparing the car for different racing series. Cars line Toyota GR will get reinforced brakes and a retuned suspension, handling part of the system inlet and outlet, and in some cases limited slip differentials. Special version will be different from the "civilian" cars and visually they will apply the aerodynamic package.

At this point in the new line will only be offered cars for the Japanese market: hatchback Vitz, Mark X sedan, Harrier crossover, the Voxy and Noah minivans, and hybrid the Prius PHV. Later the family will be replenished with the 5-door models Toyota Aqua and Prius Alpha (outside Japan these models are known as the Prius C and Prius V).

One of the most interesting novelties will be the Toyota 86 GR: yet, in contrast to other machines she initially has some relation to sports. This coupe will get a plastic kit, rims Rays, Sachs dampers, 6-piston brakes front and 4-piston rear, Torsen differential, Recaro seats and smaller steering wheel.

As you can see, while Toyota GR passes by Russia: none of the presented models are not sold in our country (previously available only to the Toyota 86). Over time, the Japanese plan to engage and export markets, although the priority they certainly will be the United States and Europe.

By the way, along with GR will start development of another more serious series of GRMN (Gazoo Racing Masters of the Nurburgring). While in the framework of the presented model only Toyota Yaris GRMN. In addition to the improvements of appearance, suspension and body, it is different and more motor: in this case, the 1.8-liter engine is installed drive supercharger. It is possible to increase power to 212 horsepower, making nimble 3-door is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds.
