At the April Shanghai motor show debut of the Mini JCW Countryman new generation (R60 type) with a 231-horsepower turbo engine

At the upcoming motor show in Shanghai (press start to April 19) brand Mini will present the most powerful crossover in its history – Countryman second generation top version of the John Cooper Works. This "kid" (though not so new "Countrymen" series R60 and the small – size version of the JCW 4299х1822х1557 mm) will get under the hood, a new 2.0-liter modular motor BMW B48 with two in-line TwinPower turbo rated at 231 HP, coupled with the standard four-wheel drive transmission ALL4 (variant xDrive transmission with inter-axle clutch Haldex V, developed by BMW's new front-drive platform UKL).
External changes compared to the standard crossover redesigned front end with enlarged air intakes instead of fog lights and original radiator grille with "honeycomb" pattern, as well as black exclusive rims with a diameter of 18 or 19 inches, numerous nameplates JCW around the body and bright red decorative elements, including the exterior mirror housings. Led headlights are standard, and sport suspension, coupled with powerful 4-piston brake Brembo.
Dynamics to match the exterior – as many as the maximum speed of 234 km/h, acceleration from standstill to "hundreds" took only 6.5 s, regardless of the type of transmission (the "base" is a 6-step "mechanics", optional for new put the 8-speed automatic transmission Steptronic. For proposed new mechatronic chassis, the Mini Driving Modes with the ability to adjust the suspension Dynamic Damper Control.
The cabin is in a noble dark-gray Alcantara with contrasting red leather panels, sporty character emphasize and pedals with polished metal overlays, red ambient lighting and red stitching, leather braiding of the steering wheel.
Naturally, like any modern car of a premium brand, the new JCW Countryman is equipped with an advanced media system with a large screen (6.5 inch at the base or 8.8-inch "tablet" as an option), full set of ports, Bluetooth, navigation and Internet access, as well as integration with smartphones. The novelty in the functions of the media system – the "digital assistant" Mini Connected, which will help, for example, to plan a complex route, or can you remember the most frequently selected direction of movement to track the traffic situation. Optionally, customers will be offered and a hi-fi Harman Kardon.
After the April premiere will start selling the model in Europe, and in the early summer waiting for the JCW version of the Countryman in Russia. Prices for the Russian market will be announced closer to launch, but we can assume the starting price of the top version of "Villager" in the area of 2.4 million rubles.
