The next generation Renault Megane RS may be electrified

To such conclusion the correspondent, talked with the head of Renault Sport Patrice Ratti (Patrice Ratti).

 "All future vehicles will have some level of electrification. So the new Megane RS was probably the last series car with a traditional gasoline engine. said Mr Ratti. But this does not mean that the next generation will get the internal combustion engine and an electric motor, because there are several ways to do this, and technology "soft" hybrids is one of them."

Under "mild" hybrids typically involve vehicles equipped with a recovery system. They store energy during braking, allowing to reduce fuel consumption.

In addition, Patrice Ratti confirmed what we all already know since the advent of the new generation Megane RS: in the future will be released a special version of the Trophy, which will debut by the end of 2018. Its main purpose — to set a record Nurburgring among front-wheel-drive serial cars.
