The style of the car lives up to its "age-old" name

Toyota produces a lot of interesting models for the domestic market. Take, for example, the flagship sedan Century: outside of Japan no one knows it, and it's not just an Executive limousine, but also the only Japanese car with a V12 engine. Now presented a new generation of the Toyota Century.

Looking at this car, it's hard to believe he's from 2017. The design is called, "out of time": if you do not pay attention to some details, it is possible to assume that this Executive sedan appeared somewhere in the mid-80s or even earlier. This guess is far from the truth, because the new Century is similar as in the predecessor as of '97, and' 67.

Compared to the previous generation the car is slightly stretched in length, which now reached the value of 5 mm. 335 This means that Toyota Century for a good 10 cm superior to the sedan Lexus LS, which itself is huge. And this is quite logical from the point of view that in the hierarchy of the Japanese company Century is above the LS.

External monumentality is reflected in the design of the salon. Chopped lines of interior evoke associations with the most expensive sedans to luxury brands. Given the combination of strict forms and quite unusual for this class of fabric upholstery you may recall the legendary "Seagull" GAZ-14 (although not all of such a comparison will like). In fact, the saloon is finished with natural wool, although the customer can choose and skin.

In the new generation Toyota Century will not be equipped with a 12-cylinder engine. His place was taken by a more modest V8 with hybrid drive. In this case, a 5-liter 2UR-FSE used in Lexus LS600h sedan of the previous generation. Given the motor develop about 440 horsepower (the exact value for Century have not yet been disclosed).

Despite the design in a retro style, the new model received a lot of modern equipment. For example, the Toyota Century is able to automatically brake before obstacles. For maximum comfort there is a system of active noise control.

Sales of the Toyota Century will begin in 2018. The price tag has not been revealed, but for Russia it will not make any difference: still the car will not be exported.
