Today in the Volvo range there are several hybrid versions. However, the Swedish company has not yet released electric cars. Or no longer produces: the first such car was the Volvo C30, whose production was launched in 2010. However, it was just a big experiment, although a small party electric hatchback has actually arrived to the public. But soon Volvo will return to this segment, and with new strength. In the near will should see several of these cars.

According to the magazine Autocar, the new electric Volvo will also be a hatchback, but a five-door. The car will be similar to last year's Volvo concept 40.2. After that will begin selling electric vehicle on the basis of the compact crossover Volvo XC40. According to preliminary data, this car can travel up to 500 miles between charges.

We will also create a hybrid modification of the Volvo XC40. It will be based on the version of the T3 with 156-horsepower gasoline engine capacity of a half liter. Other details are still classified.

Last year Volvo unveiled a plan under which all new cars launched in 2019, will be fully electric. If the company will keep promises, the latest Volvo petrol and diesel will be presented in the current year.
