Opel Corsa GSi got a chassis from OPC

The novelty will be a farewell version of "Corsi"

We have long been accustomed, that the "charged" modification of the Opel cars are the abbreviation OPC. However, the German brand has been using another series — GSi. In Russia it is not as well known as the machines we were hardly supplied. Between the back in 1993 appeared first Corsa GSi. From ordinary hatch it was distinguished by a 105-horsepower 1.6-liter engine capable of accelerating compact car from 0 to 96 km/h (60 mph) in just 9.2 seconds, and it's very, very impressive for the early 90's. at the end of the fifth generation Opel Corsa now also appeared GSi version.

To distinguish the new from the "civilian" counterparts is not difficult. The car received a more aggressive visual styling that includes large air intakes, the spoiler on the trunk lid, door sills, red brake calipers, chrome nozzle on the exhaust pipe and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Interior photos of Opel Corsa GSi is not yet published, but we must see the sports steering wheel, Recaro seats and aluminium pedals.

Even less information is available about the technical stuffing. Corsa GSi got a chassis from a more powerful and expensive version of OPC, but the other characteristics are not specified yet. Usually the cars with the label GSi possess some mind-blowing power. It is expected that under the hood, "heat" Opel Corsa may be a 1.4-litre turbo engine of about 150 horsepower. Normal "Corsa", he accelerates to the first hundred in 8.9 seconds in "speed" at 207 km/h. this data is not worthy of the title of hot hatch, but by the standards of city compacts, and these values will be for the eyes.

In 2019 will be presented to the Opel Corsa next generation, so the version of GSi — the Swan song of the current version.
