Updated Jeep Cherokee became less pretentious

American crossover ceased to stand out

Without waiting for the opening of the North American motor show Jeep has published photos of the updated model Cherokee. This is not the Grand Cherokee SUV, about the recall which we reported WCERand relatively compact crossover that entered the market in 2013.

Initially, the Cherokee had unusual and somewhat even controversial appearance. The front was decorated in the manner of the infamous Nissan Juke: the upper section of the front optics was only a strip of daytime running lights and main headlamps disguised as "foglights". Now the SUV is decorated in a more restrained style.

Probably more neutral appearance the manufacturer hopes to increase sales. But such a controversial Jeep Cherokee used a great demand at home: every year in America diverged about 200 thousand crossovers in this series.

The list of technical changes is not yet published. Most likely, the car will lose atmospheric 272-horsepower V6, which will have new two-liter turbo engine of similar capacity.

By the way, despite the fact that the Jeep Cherokee is a crossover, not a SUV frame, it is offered in the Trailhawk version, which assumes the presence of special shields on the bottom that protects the fuel tank and suspension components. In addition, this car stands out set visual accents like the black bumper, mirrors and wheels. In the updated version of the modification Trailhawk will be saved.

Public premiere of the Jeep Cherokee will be held at the Detroit auto show, which opens in early January.
