While in Europe already sell new Duster in Russia still produce the first generation car. Until next Duster will get at best a half-two years: new Renault/Dacia for a very long time in adaptation to our market, because in addition to the standard improvements to the peculiarities of our roads, the manufacturer has yet to update the pipeline. Meanwhile, the Euro NCAP has already broke a few CUVs to find out their level of security.

Usually the cars of Dacia (Duster and it is still a Dacia, in spite of the use of the brand of Renault in Russia, Brazil and some other markets), during crash tests clearly show their budget. The manufacturer saves on the stage of development, and in production, so it's up to more expensive cars Dacia correspond. But Duster kept a stiff upper lip.

In the study the results of collisions "by eye" it becomes obvious that the second generation of the car got a strong enough body. Machine easily withstood frontal and side impacts, while maintaining a "safety cage" in a relatively unharmed condition. Concerns caused a collision on the pillar, which is deeply rooted in the structure of the cabin.

Budget crossover earned a 71% for protection of the driver and adult passengers, 66 % for child passengers and 56 % for pedestrians. The worst situation with additional safety devices. Among them, the Dacia Duster was the only alarm seat belt warning belt (it is noteworthy that they are installed on the front seats, and rear) as well as manual speed limiter.

In the end, the experts evaluated the protection of the Duster in three score and five. In Euro NCAP noted that the new model proved to be safer than the previous one. Formally, the SUV of the last generation also got three stars, but it was in 2011, and since then the requirements have tightened somewhat.

In total, the Euro NCAP at this time experienced 17 models. The highest score earned BMW 6 Series GT, Jaguar F-Pace, Kona Hyundai, Kia Stinger, Kia Stonic with additional safety package and the Toyota Yaris. The good in me was only, Toyota Aygo with safety package (without it, the hatch gains three points). Three stars on a par with the Dacia Duster went to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, DS 3, Ford C-Max, Ford Grand C-Max, MG ZS and Opel Karl.

Obvious to outsiders was the Fiat Punto. Given the advanced age of the model this is not surprising: its production was started back in 2005, so she's already had to replace a couple of generations. However, even with this machine withstood the blows, but fell on the little things: there is only one belt reminder (driver's) and no speed limiter. And since Punto scored zero points in the category "safety Devices", and all the rest of his achievements were not taken into account. If not for this annoying little thing, the Italian hatch could claim at least two stars.
