The Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was never sold in Russia. However, on a global scale this machine has a noticeable significance: for many years, she holds the second place in absolute ranking bestsellerov USA. Lately in America is sold at 500-600 thousand such cars, and in seconds, about a third of the total volume of the Russian automotive market. Now the Americans have shown a new generation of this "workhorse".

The presentation was held in celebration of the 100th anniversary since the release of the first Chevrolet pickup truck, which brought together fans of the brand and hundreds of pickups from different eras. The new car was lowered from a helicopter right in the middle of the field: not too reminiscent of glamorous announcements, right?

In fact, while the manufacturer just teased the audience, without naming any precise data about the next generation Silverado. It is only known that the composition of the frame and the body is more widely used high-strength steel and aluminum, which reduced weight. As you know, the main opponent of the new, Ford F-150 that the third decade is the most popular American car a few years ago switched to all-aluminum body.

Not to mention the haste in which prepared the new Chevrolet Silverado: the earlier version was released as recently as 2013, but the life cycle of the pickups usually last longer than cars (for example, before Silverado was produced for eight consecutive years without changing the platform).

Among the other improvements more than the wide range of engines and trim levels. The photos depict a new version of Trailboss, which includes off-road kit. Pickup received a two-inch lift suspension, sticky tyres and a set of black accessories: bumpers, wheels, mirrors, gratings, and so on.

A full presentation of the Chevrolet Silverado will be held on 14 January at the International auto show in Detroit. Most likely, something interesting is waiting for us and part art, because the same Ford F-150 significantly updated almost every year recently became available first in the industry 10-step "automatic" (developed by Ford together with GM), and upgraded turbo EcoBoost displacement of 2.7 and 3.5 liters. Competition in this segment from year to year only heating up. And it's not far off the presentation and the new Dodge RAM.
