The Australian branch of GM Holden has introduced two new crossover
To produce its own line of original cars in Australia has long been economically feasible, though just until recently, and Ford with its own range of Falcon models, General Motors models, Commodore continued to build, relying mainly on the loyalty and patriotism of local motorists. However, as we know, all good things must end – Ford "gave up" back in 2016, and GM stops the Assembly line in Port Elizabeth in October this year.
Holden Equinox
However, a Commodore in 2018, now with front-wheel drive layout, the line will remain, and supply will come from Germany, from the head of the Opel plant in russelheim. Moreover, the Americans recently announced the final sale of loss-making Opel the French group PSA, were able to negotiate with the new owners on the supply of the new generation Insignia for the Australian market under the brand Holden.
Recently GM introduced the replenishment of the model range of crossovers for Australia, and the American Assembly – medium model Equinox and the larger Acadia crossover (title photo) more expensive, and with the titles "jordanovski" tradition wise did not. As you might guess, the novelty – only right-hand drive version of the Mk III Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Acadia Mk II, but with the appropriate corporate style Holden radiator grilles, nameplates and other decor.
Equinox simpler, gamma motor – "four" with a turbocharger with a volume of 1.5 liter capacity of 173 HP or a 2.0 liter (256 HP), sales start in December, but the Acadia with naturally aspirated engines of 2.5 l R4 (197 HP) or 3.6 l V6 (314 HP) and in the United States, and Australia belongs to the premium segment with an appropriate margin. Its sales will begin later in 2018.
Prices and specifications for the Australian market will be declassified in the fall of this year closer to start of sales.
