The head of "AVTOVAZ" Nicolas Moore was generous comments regarding the future of the company. He not only spoke about the future generation of the classic "Fields" and optimization of the model series "Grants" and "Kalina", but has also provided more than intriguing information regarding the "West": in the future, it can still receive the traditional "automatic".

The question of the choice of transmission in the "West" is an edge. Formally, the buyer can buy as "mechanics" and an automated manual transmission. In theory, the robot should provide the same user experience as regular automatic pedals here, too, two, and the switching lever to pull is not necessary.

But the harsh reality was different: the base AMT, and similar in principle work units manufacturers, sometimes works too clipped and illogical. Such is the fate of robotic transmission with one clutch. The essence of this "robot" is accurately reflected in its official name — "automated manual transmission". From the usual "mechanics" it differs only in the set of actuators that squeeze the clutch and change gear, as well as relevant electronics.

In the end, "robot" was the main claim to the "West" as from journalists and motorists. It has repeatedly appeared rumors that "AVTOVAZ" is considering the installation of a conventional "automatic" or CVT, but more behind-the-scenes discussions, this information was not left. So review Nicolas Mora was a real outlet for those who have been eyeing the "West", but do not want to buy it without a transmission.

"When we see the structure of the Russian market, it is more than 50 percent of the occupied cars with "automatic", so we definitely need a good solution on "automatic" for Vesta. If you dream a little, and in two years it will become feasible," said Moore.

The statistics given are correct: in the first quarter of 2018, the share of cars with automatic transmission had 55 % from common millet (the data of "AUTOSTAT").

While there is no information on what "machine" may appear on the "West". In stock Renault-Nissan there are suitable options, but the problem is that any imported aggregate will significantly increase the final cost of the car.

By the way, recently automated transmission "Vesta" was updated. Now the faster the unit switches from first to second gear and from second to third. In addition to this there are "creeping" mode in which the machine automatically starts moving when you release the brake pedal. And when you select "winter" mode, you can start in second gear.
