In 2016 the US market went hybrid crossover Kia Niro. It uses a 1.6-litre petrol engine capacity of 103 horsepower and a 43-HP electric motor integrated six-speed robotic transmission. Also, the system has a modest Li-ion battery with a capacity of only 1.56 kW·h. Claimed fuel consumption is 4.7 liters per 100 kilometers. Now the Korean brand has unveiled a prototype all-electric version of the Niro.

As Hyundai Nexo, the Kia Niro concept EV was presented at CES 2018, which once again underlines the innovative character of the car. Visually, the new product is slightly different from the serial Kia Niro, although the final version, which later goes on sale, will probably be decorated a little easier.

The compact crossover is driven by a 204-horsepower electric motor. Powered by Li-ion battery with a capacity of 64 kW·h. Representatives of Kia's claim that the reserve is around 383 miles.

In the bowels of the South Korean company is already hard at work on the serial version of Kia Niro EV. By 2025, the total of Kia intends to submit 16 elektrifizierung models (this includes hybrids). According to the Vice-President and head of R & d Dr. Yang At Chol (Dr. Woong-chul Yang), these include five conventional hybrids, five "plug-in" (with external charging), five cars and one model for fuel cells.
