The Japanese manufacturer is preparing for the premiere of rotary concept RX

This year at the motor show in Tokyo Mazda will bring the concept coupe RX-Vision Concept. The leadership of the Japanese brand had a desire to revive the legendary sports coupe, which once was the sole representative of rotary engines. You can be sure that new concept car will bring a minimum of 2 years before we released the production version of the car.

New concept vehicle will be a continuation of the project RX-Vision, which was shown at the Tokyo motor show in 2015. Then it was decided that the new coupe in rank will stand above the Mazda MX-5. Series coupe will be called RX-9.

On the RX-9 will introduce the rotary engine SkyActiv-R volume of 1.6 L. the other characteristics of a rotary motor said nothing. Judging by the patent applications, the rotary sports car will be equipped with hybrid power plant. Although a year ago at the international motor show in Los Angeles, Kiyoshi Fujiwara, head of the research Department of the brand Mazda, argued that he did not want to electrify the rotary engine. However, the profitability of the project Mazda RX-9 may still shift the balance to the hybrid.

The Japanese company was founded in 1920, because the premiere of the production of the Mazda RX-9 is likely scheduled for the 100th anniversary of the brand in 2020.
