Lincoln revives the name of the Aviator

In the short term, Lincoln will continue to expand the model range of crossovers. Tepert on turn large Aviator model, about the imminent arrival of which was announced by the homonymous concept presented at the auto show in new York.

Produced from 2003 to 2005 Lincoln Aviator SUV is almost indistinguishable from the related Ford Explorer. The failure of this approach was recognized in the early 2000s, so the new "Lincoln" which no longer resemble the platform fords either outside or inside, though still using the same units.

Individual elements of the new are reminiscent of the mastodon Lincoln Navigator new generation, but in the end a very different way. Despite the very large dimensions (body length will probably be over five metres), the Aviator does not look heavy.

Fortunately, inside the Lincoln Aviator also nothing like a relationship with "Ford". Already in the database, the novelty will get a digital instrument panel diagonal of 12 inches and the latest version of the SYNC entertainment system.

Technical characteristics of Lincoln Aviator not specified yet, but one very curious detail is of interest: the crossover will be built on new rear-drive platform. And this despite the fact that, with the exception of the same Lincoln Navigator, which is close to the pickup Ford F-150, all of "Lincoln" are based on front-wheel drive "trucks".

Some of this interest us, the Russians, if the Lincoln brand, we are not represented? But the fact that the technical analogue of the Lincoln Aviator will soon appear in the range of "Ford". So everything goes to the fact that the next Ford Explorer will also move to the new platform, in which the main drive shaft will be back.
