Electric supercar will be able to be treated for minor accident
Today's supercars Lamborghini remain faithful to centuries-old traditions. They are not only
do not use electric motors, but still have not abandoned the naturally aspirated engine. However,
no technology can exist forever. Now the masters from Sant'agata Bolognese decided to look into the future and unveiled an electric model. Their imagination is decorated in the concept Lamborghini Terzo Millennio.
In creating the "Lamborghini of the third Millennium" (it is translated name of the product) was attended by members of the Massachusetts Institute of technology. The collaboration was born thanks to the car's electric powered and very lightweight body.
Lamborghini Terzo Millennio uses four electric motors built directly
in the wheel. It unleashes designers are no longer constrained by the traditional Assembly solutions, in which the body shell is built around the power unit.
But even taking this into account, the proportions of the concept is not far removed from modern models of the company.
Another technological breakthrough should be the use of ultracapacitors.
They can be recharged faster than conventional batteries, but researchers also hope to avoid the effect of degradation caused by cyclic operation. But even more curious that the engineers plan to incorporate supercapacitors into the power frame of the machine. This will apply to carbon nanotubes, in which is embedded a thin layer of semiconductors.
Another incredible property of this structure should be the regeneration. Inside the body frame are provided by the microchannels. It will have to be a special "healing" stuff in case of detection of minor cracks. This will allow you to save the maximum body strength of a small accident, when the visual integrity of the elements was not broken, but the substructure was damaged. This whole process will be
in fully automated mode.
While the exact specifications Lamborghini Terzo Millennio were not disclosed. Also, Italian companies are not told about when we can expect the emergence of a supercar with such powers. Earlier, representatives of the brand said that the first electric car Lamborghini will appear not earlier than 2025. It is not excluded that Terzo Millennio is a proving ground for testing of the exterior of the future flagship of the company: the Aventador is still available
in 2011, and soon he will need to be replaced. This does not mean that the crown will pass to the motors.
