The production version will appear in 2018
The Toyota Prius is one of the first and most popular hybrids but few people know that in the first half of the 2000s, the most economical car in the U.S. was another hatch — the Honda Insight. He, too, was a hybrid and had an unusual appearance. The same applies to the second generation Insight, which was produced from 2009 to 2014. But then, the Japanese company decided to take a break. To resume the production cost model is planned in 2018. Meantime we propose to look at the eponymous concept.
Past versions of Insight were outsiders in the model range of the Japanese brand. The new model will abandon the tradition and become closer to other cars of the company. It is not so easy to distinguish from the fresh generations of Civic and the Accord that have not yet come to Russia.
At first glance it conventional conventional liftback. Probably, Honda decided to abandon the previous strategy: the demand for the previous generation of the Insight was very weak. In this case, the body is not visible any special elements designed to reduce the drag coefficient (its value is not reported).
Representatives of the Japanese company is silent about the technical equipment. We only know that the Honda Insight will remain a hybrid, and the fuel consumption will be at the level of direct competitors.
The next generation Honda Insight will be produced at the company's plant in Indiana, side by side with models of Civic and CR-V Sales will begin in the first half of 2018.
