Jeep Wrangler is lighter and more modern

One of the most charismatic of the novelties of a motor show in Los Angeles became the Jeep Wrangler. The legendary model has retained recognizable style and impressive off-road potential, but is lighter and more modern.

At the basis lies an upgraded Wrangler frame in which the increased proportion of high-strength steel. In addition, the hood, doors and frame of the windshield is now made of aluminium. These measures helped to reduce the car's weight by 90 kg.

At the same time Jeep Wrangler have not compromised his ideals. This is still a serious SUV, which will be offered lots of additional improvements. For example,
in the version of the Rubicon will be delivered a huge 33-inch wheels. Moreover, the owner will be able to install even 35-inch tires without any additional modifications to the design (this usually requires to expand the arch).

One of the main engines "of Wrangler" will remain the 3.6-liter "six" Pentastar issuing 289 horsepower. Now she works in tandem with the new eight-speed "automatic". Lovers of handmade can continue to choose the "mechanics" with six speed. Claimed consumption urban cycle decreased by 12 % to 13 l/100 km.

Also, Jeep Wrangler now available with two-liter turbo engine capacity of 271 horsepower. This SUV will initially be "mild hybrid": it is equipped with a 48-volt battery. It is assumed that the starter-generator in the belt drive will start the motor when the system "start/stop", and add a bit of traction under acceleration with small velocities.

Later on Wrangler for the first time in American history appears the diesel motor. In the foreseeable future will be available and a hybrid version, the details of which remain secret.
