As produced until 2010 Jeep Commander, his Grand-successor will be equipped with seven-seat interior. But the similarity ends there. Unlike its ancestor, the new model will be built on the automobile platform Compact U.S. Wide, now used in compact Cherokee crossover.

Along with this the Jeep Grand Commander will be slightly longer than the flagship Grand Cherokee, which he also will have a larger wheelbase (mm 2 800 to 2 700). It is expected that the large crossover gets a two-liter gasoline turbo engine and a nine-automatic transmission.

Presentation of the Jeep Grand Commander will take place at the International motor show in Beijing, which will be held in April. The car will be produced in China. Exports to foreign markets are not planned.

By the way, at home too, Jeep is preparing to introduce a seven-seater. But it won't be like the Jeep Grand Commander: connecting models with the alleged names of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will be built on the basis of the frame from the Ram pickup.
