New product claims to be the most "long-range" vehicle emission
Lately, automotive companies increasingly announce new products at the consumer electronics show CES, held in Las Vegas. Why there and not at the Detroit auto show, which opens just a week? The key aim of such presentations is the emphasis on high-tech stuffing new models. This is especially true for hybrids, or electric cars like Hyundai Nexo, cars with fuel cells.
Prototype hydrogen crossover was introduced six months ago in Seoul. The model has not had its own name, but visually almost no different from Hyundai Nexo. The appearance of new item can be described as extraordinary. It uses fashionable today, when daytime running lights are disguised as main headlights, but the lens itself low beam pretend "foglights". Among other trendy solutions you can mark a "floating" roof: rear rack is visually separated from the sidewall, which creates a similar visual effect.
Since we are talking about a car on hydrogen, the technical filling is much more important than the external image. Hyundai Nexo must be the first model with the fuel cells of second generation. Among the key advantages over the predecessor (Hyundai ix35 FCEV) notes the increase in the cruising range of 214 miles, to 800. However, this figure is typical for the NEDC test cycle, which has long been considered too optimistic and unreliable.
According to the manufacturer, Hyundai Nexo suitable even for countries with cool climate. Innovative crossover easily "start" (the usual engine it does not) after a night out at a temperature of -29 degrees Celsius. System goes on performance after 30 seconds after launch, which is supposedly a record for the segment. At the same time sophisticated cooling system allows you to ride on Nexo in ambient temperature to 49 degrees. The lifetime of fuel cells is estimated at 160,000 kilometers or ten years.
Among other advantages regarding the Hyundai ix35 FCEV is indicated more rapid acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (20% faster, up to 9.5-9.9 seconds), more spacious cabin, reduced noise and vibration level.
For the new SUV available in the Following system Lane Assist, which will be able to drive within a single lane at speeds from 0 to 145 km/h When paired with Highway Driving Assist on-Board computer will adapt to your current speed for installed in the area restrictions.
In the first quarter of 2018, Hyundai Nexo will be available in certain markets. Most likely, the first to appreciate the advantages of hydrogen crossover can Koreans and Americans. Prices are not yet published.
