The European branch of Honda Motor introduced the official information about the new generation of hatchback Honda Civic Mk X

In anticipation of the coming Geneva motor show the European branch of Honda Motor introduced the official information on the new, tenth generation of the hatchback Honda Civic, which is in March 2017 will begin at the plant of Japanese concern in Aidone (UK). The new Civic compared to the ninth generation in all areas – overall dimensions of the hatchback are 4518х1799х1434 4300х1770х1440 mm vs mm, wheelbase increased to 2697 mm (was 2595 mm).

Styling changed radically – if the hatchback of the previous generation as a whole kept the concept of the "egg" of the revolutionary Civic VIII, which in 2005 created a furore at the IAA in Frankfurt am main, the "tenth" the Civic has become a much more brutal appearance, look particularly impressive blackened grille and wide front air intakes.

For the European market is provided by two petrol engines, both turbo and a proprietary system of variable valve timing VTEC –  3-cylinder with a volume of 1.0 liter capacity 129 HP or 4-cylinder capacity of 1.5 liters that develops 182 HP, depending on transmission type (6-speed manual gearbox or CVT) torque figures are 200 or 180 N∙m for the liter "Turbotronic" and 240 or 220 nm for 4-cylinder turbo engine.

Already in the list of standard equipment for the new Civic includes a new integrated system of active safety, Honda Sensing, which includes the system of automatic braking control, lane and blind zones, tracking of road signs and adaptive cruise control and dynamic stabilization system of the new generation, dubbed Agile Handling Assist, a recalibrated for the European market and allow more of the power style of riding with the slides.

Also the list of equipment includes the Honda Connect media system with 7 inch screen, CD/MP3/DVD, USB, navigation and integration with smartphones, led headlamps, a smart key, engine start button and the optional Hi-Fi.

Sales of the new Civic will start in Europe in late March, the basic version for the UK will cost between 18 325 pounds. About Russian prospects yet officially there is no information.
